My bedside lamp, which I inherited from my grandmother (this makes it sound more sentimentally precious than it is; really she was downsizing and it didn't make the cut to get into her smaller place, so she offered it to me) has been gradually dying for the past year or so, and it finally gave up the ghost completely like two months ago. I was putting off getting a new one because what with the holidays & finishing paying off my moving debt, it was an avoidable expense. But it does mean that once I'm in bed I can't read unless I do it on my computer or phone.
I did end up ordering a replacement last night! It's this body from Target, but I want to get a more exciting shade. I was looking around Etsy & found some cool William Morris print shades, but at that point I was actually getting sleepy so I put off making a decision. But I'm excited to be able to read books in bed again, with an attractive new lamp!
