Addendum to yesterday's post

FRIDAY.
Back in December, I scheduled a dentist appointment for 3pm today. I was willing to wait that long because not many dentists take my insurance, and this one had great Yelp reviews. Over this past week, the office confirmed this appointment with me by phone, email, and two separate texts; basically a reminder every day Monday through Thursday. Cool, I will not forget, I swear. As promised, I show up today at 2:50 and the office is shut. Like. Blinds drawn, door locked, "Please call again" sign up, phone goes to voicemail, SHUT. I wait around until 3:15... nothing. What is going on with this week?!

Oh that sounds frustrating, because presumably it stokes your particular phobia as well? You want to get it over with!

Exactly!! I had to get myself all psyched up to endure possible needles happening, and then: nah. I also have no idea if they'll call back to reschedule or whether I'll have to wait another five months??? The whole thing is perplexing.

WTH? Did you ever find out what happened? I'm assuming some kind of emergency, but it's hard to picture what... A death in the family might call the dentist away, but surely the receptionist would stick around to reschedule patients... If it was a fire, you wouldn't take the time to close the blinds...

No! I have yet to hear back from them. So bizarre, right?! It did look like a small office, so greywash and my leading theory is that maybe the dentist and the staff are all part of the same family? And there was a family emergency? IDK MAN, it was a weird close to a weird week.

I still have no idea. Now it's Monday and I'm like... will the dentist office call me back to reschedule?? Or did they skip town for good? Only time will tell.

Thanks, friend! Last week was indeed A Bad One. I am heading into this week rested, with at least an attempt at a positive attitude. *Determined face!*
