Help me cast some porn?

I have a plot bunny (for a certain definition of "plot") which originally arose in my brain out of meta pettiness, but which I've become attached to in its own right, maybe enough to actually write it someday.
However, I need help with the casting. As such, taking suggestions:
What are your favorite fannish F/M pairings to write/read/imagine with a fem!domme/male!sub dynamic?
I could write it as original fiction, but since the original impetus came out of commentary on fannish norms, I'd prefer it to be fanfic.
(If it's useful, other AO3 tags likely to appear on this story: Predicament Bondage, Humiliation Kink, Clothing Disparity. Ideally it would take place in a world modern enough to contain smartphones.)

Date: 2019-09-21 08:03 pm (UTC)I don't really know any fandoms other than Sherlock, but it drives me crazy that even with characters like Irene Adler, -- and I understand your issues with her in BBC canon, but she's indisputably a female who doms men -- the fic for her is overwhelmingly... Either totally vanilla, or if she tops anyone it's only women.
Anyway, I'm generally frustrated at how often women in fic are sexually submissive, even when it runs against their characterization. I suppose it's just what most readers prefer, but female submission of any kind (but particularly to a man) is a pretty big squick for me, so...
Um, how about Janet/Michael? Or Janet/Chidi could be fun. Anne Shirley/Gilbert Blythe, lol.

Date: 2019-09-21 11:17 pm (UTC)Also (now that I've recovered from the actual laughing jag I just went on imagining all the GP possibilities): I'm a little shocked that I didn't think of BBC Irene, since I've actually already written (an era-shifted version of) her doing scenes with male clients that share a certain aspect of performative-boredom-as-part-of-a-humiliation-kink-scenario that would feature heavily in this story. Hm. I wonder if I could write a modern version of her, having spent so long with my 1921 version. Food for thought.

Date: 2019-09-22 02:15 pm (UTC)I think I'm drawn to Janet in part because she is the oddball choice. Like, from one angle she's super sweet and accommodating in this traditionally feminine way. But she's also like, all powerful? I feel like she might start out as a service dom, but really surprise herself with her emotional response to being in control...

Date: 2019-09-22 08:56 pm (UTC)I intentionally avoid fic that pairs her with men, because of my meta issues with her depiction on the show and also just because pairing self-described gay women with men is a general squick for me across the board. (I've written her with male clients, but it's pretty clear in both stories in which I did that that, that she processes her professional interactions very differently than her extracurricular ones.) So I'm totally in the dark about trends in the Irene/men fic world. I have read a fair number of stories that explore her relationships with women (including Holyfant's EXCELLENT Irene/Kate stuff; "Photophobia" is one of my all-time favorite fics in any fandom), and in those I've read she usually does domme her partners. It seems... very strange, to choose to write her in a sexual setting and not have that be part of one's characterization.
