Help me cast some porn?

I have a plot bunny (for a certain definition of "plot") which originally arose in my brain out of meta pettiness, but which I've become attached to in its own right, maybe enough to actually write it someday.

However, I need help with the casting. As such, taking suggestions:

What are your favorite fannish F/M pairings to write/read/imagine with a fem!domme/male!sub dynamic?

I could write it as original fiction, but since the original impetus came out of commentary on fannish norms, I'd prefer it to be fanfic.

(If it's useful, other AO3 tags likely to appear on this story: Predicament Bondage, Humiliation Kink, Clothing Disparity. Ideally it would take place in a world modern enough to contain smartphones.)

I feel like, so much of the time, a show hands us this dynamic and then does absolutely nothing with it. That said, I'm having a hard time actually thinking of a pairing I really like for this, aside Margo/Quentin. After Jupiter Ascending came out, there was a brief renaissance of femdom D/s fic, and it was delightful -- idk if you're familiar with the movie? I also had a huge amount of UST for Lito Rodriguez from Sense8 being topped by Dani as well as Hernandez, but I don't think that totally fits what you're looking for. I'm really curious to see what other people rec, because I'm so here for femdom fic, always.

Oh also LEVERAGE, Parker topping Hardison and/or Eliot would be great and v in-character imo.

Margo/Quentin is also the pairing that sprang to mind for me... it would definitely work beautifully for this concept. It's especially difficult to think of another male character for whom the conceit would work as well. All of which is kind of unfortunate for me since I have a ton of hangups about writing Quentin, and the poor Magicians fandom has been jerked around & traumatized so much that I kind of feel like I should leave him to fans who connect more naturally with him than I do. Luckily it seems like people have a lot of great suggestions.

Speaking of which: Parker from Leverage! That's a delightful possibility. It would definitely—take this idea in a slightly different direction, since she strikes me as less mean and more just odd/on her own wavelength. But that's not necessarily bad; in fact I'm cracking up imagining out the ramifications. I also feel like the addition of either Hardison or Eliot as essentially an observer and egger-on would be both hot and hilarious. Ahahaha. Wonderful. Thanks for the suggestion!

Well. Ahahaha. I have not been watching Wynnona Earp, but weirdly, you, have unearthed an extremely longstanding and specific kink of mine for submissive(/queer) Doc Holliday. (Like. Very longstanding. I believe it dates from my first viewing of Tombstone (1993), in which Holliday is played by a tubercular Val Kilmer.) Soooooooo YOU INTEREST ME STRANGELY, is what I'm saying. I did not realize this was a potential dynamic Wynnona Earp could offer me. Maybe I will have to check it out!

WELL with those tags it sounds like a Rey/Kylo fic of my dreams, but it would also be an excellent fic for Keyleth/Vax from Critical Role (...almost any m/f ship from Critrole tbh, those men seem to have a Type), or Amanda/Ari from Nikita, if we want to be very 2011 about it all - but I'm not sure any of those are things you're fannish enough about to write.

I stopped watching Legion, but I feel like this could work really well with Sid/David (with the added twist that she can't touch him because mutant powers, so all the sex they have takes place in a mindscape he sets up...). There are interesting power dynamics between these two outside of sex that could be reflected/refracted/resolved/exacerbated/etc. through sex.

And 12 Monkeys, Jennifer Goines/Deacon. Or Olivia/any number of the men in the show.

Wow, I haven't seen Legion but that twist sounds pretty damn hot all on its own. And I'm always here for interesting power dynamics. I know a few folks whose opinions I really respect LOVE the show—out of curiosity, why did you stop watching?

I feel like I'm getting back to a place post-Magicians viewing where Sabrina's levels of fantasy/horror are sounding more appealing to me! Which is encouraging since so many folks seem to be into the F/F dynamics on that show. Which. AS YOU KNOW. Is really what I'm here for.

I don't really know any fandoms other than Sherlock, but it drives me crazy that even with characters like Irene Adler, -- and I understand your issues with her in BBC canon, but she's indisputably a female who doms men -- the fic for her is overwhelmingly... Either totally vanilla, or if she tops anyone it's only women.

Anyway, I'm generally frustrated at how often women in fic are sexually submissive, even when it runs against their characterization. I suppose it's just what most readers prefer, but female submission of any kind (but particularly to a man) is a pretty big squick for me, so...

Um, how about Janet/Michael? Or Janet/Chidi could be fun. Anne Shirley/Gilbert Blythe, lol.

Mm, I love that dynamic, but it's also something I don't seek out because it's super hard to find. (And, also, I tend to default to femslash myself.)

Some answers from larger fandoms: Natasha/Steve Rogers; pretty basic MCU, but honestly give me dom!Natasha/anyone and I'll consider it. In Star Wars, I particularly enjoy Jyn Erso/Cassian Andor, but Leia/Han would probably work super well too. On the DCU side of comics, there's Diana/Steve Trevor, because Wonder Woman can always take the femdom role.

Actual answer, though: Michael Burnham/Ash Tyler, in Star Trek: Discovery. I love Michael as a dom in general; she's got such strength. And Ash deserves to have someone take care of him in that specific way.

MCU has a lot of appeal, for both meta and other reasons, and I've written a lot of comics-verse Natasha, so I feel pretty confident writing her. And she could definitely do the performative boredom thing I'm looking for. Greywash suggested Tony/Pepper last night, which is another MCU option I think would work really well.

Seconding Natasha/Steve from the MCU, or also Clint Barton, or like, frankly, anyone, cause it's Natasha and if you believe she wants someone I'll believe it too. Also seconding Margo/Quention, and PARKER/Eliot/Hardison in whatever combination. And I'm always a sucker for some femdom Molly Hooper, maybe with Lestrade (which, my opinion of this show is so sunk now that he's the only, like, half-tolerable guy I can think of off the top of my head).

But really you're one of the people I'll follow into any fandom, so I'm here for this no matter who gets cast.

Ahhhhh how tasty! This may be way out of left field, but here goes: Jo/Laurie from Little Women. Can give you more HC if you’re even vaguely interested. And for something closer to home, why not Eliot/Margo? I can totally see Margo needing to exercise that aspect of herself with a guy who can actually handle everything she can dish out, and lbr, those straight boys are few and far between. I know fandom (and Hale) really like the image of Eliot as a soft!daddy, but imho Eliot would also be a fantastic sub—for someone he respects.

Hahahahahaha well Tina/John would certainly be a lovingly meta choice. And I mean. YOU'RE NOT WRONG. You are not wrong.

I adore Phryne/Jack with dominant Phryne, and their shared lifestyle handily supplies easy excuses for the presence of elaborate suspension rigging, but I can't really see her performing boredom in the way I need. She's like boredom anti-matter; it can't exist in the same room with her. I do really want to write them someday, though; they're such fun.

If I won't be cast into the outer darkness for this... *cringe* Ana (female heroine)/Taylor (hunky bodyguard) from 50 Shades of Grey??!! Jenny Trout's sporkings-slash-analytical essays on the series really sold me on this pairing, since the bodyguard treats her so much better than the actual hero, and there's a tasty power dynamic thing going on where he always addresses her as "Miss Steele."

Other, less repugnant suggestions: Peggy Carter/anyone, Mary Watson/Sherlock (BBC), and nthing Parker/Hardison/Eliot. I honestly haven't even watched the show, but you don't have to to love reading them together.

L O L O L omg. I now have a mental image that I... did not particularly want. But it's 3000% worth it for the LOLZ.

I think for this particular story I've settled on Tony/Pepper, BUT I also have a quick Leverage story (actually nonstandard threesome Sophie/Tara/Parker) that will involve suspensions as well and I'm definitely gonna hit you up about the logistics. Uh. Maybe like, tomorrow. As I just watched the last episode I needed to revisit in order to start planning this fic in earnest.
